Hey NCG,

May want to double check your SP wires. I know you have new ones but there’s a chance they could have been compromised from taking them off multiple times. I went to check my plugs and in the process of removing the #1 wire it ripped apart. DOH! I was much more careful with other three and got them off with no issues but noticed that two of the wires seemed to have some play. So I cut them open and to my surprise, the wire and SP post piece (not sure what the correct name is) were no longer seated/connected. The only thing holding them together was the rubber housing. 3 of the 4 wires were like this.

I replaced the SP wires a few years back and they have less than 1k miles on them but they’ve been pulled off several times over the years. Not sure how common this is but could be something else to look at.

I just watched your latest video where you end with saying you're going to put the stock injectors (and other parts) back in the car. I think that's a very good move to eliminate variables. Do you still have the factory DME to try in the same spirit? Remind me what injectors and chips you are running now? Chips, injectors, fuel pressure, and air-measuring (AFM/maf) need to be a matched set for the engine to run right. And what's the 'fluid' in you cylinders! If something is puddling in all 4 cylinders (?) the that would be a first order priority!

Hey Tom! Unfortunately, my factory DME went to Focus 9 as the core is a requirement to get their DME. My CURRENT chip is the first of (3) that John Behe sent me. He also recommended some 50lb injectors from Five0 Motorsport. They are low impedence injectors, but John insisted that they are fine with the F9 DME. They are currently in the car.

I'll be going back to the LR MAXX HP chip, along with my recently cleaned/tested factory injectors and the factory AFM (despite some dead spots). I've had a 3.0 FPR installed (I've tried 2 different brands) ever since I first installed the LR "300 HP kit" from Lindsey Racing.

As for that fluid - I got a small sample and it seems to be a mix of fuel and oil. My guess is that I either have unburned fuel or I'm running too rich and it's washing the cylinder walls and/or oil vapor coming in from the IM.

Also - previously I had talked about a "squeal/chirp" sound when I blip the throttle. I reset both my throttle body and stop screw (which I think I had too far open) as well as my idle adjustment screw. I read that the idle adjustment screw should be started fully seated, then backed off 1/2 turn. Mine was at least 2-3 turns from fully closed. After that, a few things happened:

1) My ICV is now less open at idle
2) That "squeal/chirp" is gone (ICV could have been causing?)
3) Still no change with idle vacuum
4) The car really bogs down after coming off the throttle

Also - I think the ODB+ software shows what the DME is commanding the ICV to do. However, that doesn't mean the ICV is actually doing it. So for the bogging down issue my guesses are:

1) The ICV isn't reacting quickly enough when coming off throttle
2) I'm running so rich that there is too much fuel when coming off throttle

The saga continues, but I'm hoping for positive results when I put things back the way they were. 944FEST is coming up quickly!

Have a 28 pin DME and KLR you can barrow to test with if needed.

PM if interested. Happy to help out.
