E85 isn't an option. So you're saying a GT 3071-63 has no benefit over a K26-8 under 3500 revs?ealoken wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 1:30 am A 4 sylinder 2 valve non vvti head will never make good boost that low.
even if it makes boost, the engine design dont make any power under 3500-3800 rpm.
E85 will help you out.
Garrett GT 3071-63 turbo.
Yes, the new g30-660 will probably spool at 3500, vs 3800 on the old GT, and produce 500 hp Easily, but it's expensive.facboy wrote: Wed Jun 17, 2026 3:55 am Not that I understand these things but isn’t Garrett’s latest and greatest the G Series 2?
Isn’t the idea that it’s not the turbo but the 8v head and engine design? Meaning that same turbo might perform much better down low with a 16v head or maybe a highly ported 8v head?
I would be interested to see how a Xona , HPC, or Apex turbo would perform.

Chris White may have that info for 8v motors and 16v too.
My motor is basically done, just waiting on some piping since SFR is done and I have to source a header elsewhere. I'm using the Xona 6364s on mine. Getting antsy for the install and tune to begin.

Not that I'll ever go there, but I've often read a KKK 26-6 has better low down pull than a 26-8. Wouldn't the Tial turbine housing and ball bearings match the 26-6?
