I have a 2025 Cayman GTS 4.0 with 194 miles on it. When it get to around 2500 miles I wanted to have an independent shop change the oil & filter using factory spec Mobil 1 oil. Is this ok or will it cause a problem with the new car warranty, by not going to a authorized Porsche Dealer.

Also I want to install Rennline Radiator and side vent filters, will this void my new car warranty.

You are not required to have maintenance done at a Porsche dealer to maintain your warranty. You just need to have proof that the maintenance was done on time and consistent with Porsche's recommendations. Using a dealer, however, removes all doubt and eliminates arguments about whether the work was done correctly, etc.

An aftermarket radiator can impact your warranty if you experience a problem that can -- are arguably could -- cause the problem you experience. So if you put in an aftermarket radiator and your electric seat stops working, it would be difficult for Porsche to deny coverage on the seat. If it overheats, it would be easy to deny coverage. If you experience bore score or hvac issues or sensor failures, or anything else in the grey zone, you might have a fight on your hands if Porsche decides it's related to the radiator.

Aren't you in the car business? I would think this comes up a lot in your line of work. No?

Tagging onto the theme here a bit --

I've developed a habit of doing the first oil change service when the car gets home for the first time, then another at a few hundred then at 1k. I want to get ALL the machining and casting debris out ASAP. Then on to normal intervals after that. Too cautious? Not so far, at least for me. I cut the filters open for inspection too. Cars cost to much to neglect a few early preservation steps.

Agreed. A variation of your method has always been my practice too. At 400 miles I had an oil/filter svc done on the '26 Carrera S at the dealer.

I'm right there with you guys... When I built my 944 motor, I changed the oil after the initial heat cycle, then again at 100 and 1000 miles. Plenty of metal after the initial heat cycle too. With the new cars, I took them in between 500 and 1000. If they didn't call me crazy, I'd ask the dealer to change the oil on a new car after driving it off the delivery truck... :shifty:
