Happy New Year everyone! One of the key events taking place this year for us is our son Aaron is going to be a liver donor on January 13th. He saw a post on Facebook seeking candidates for a live liver donation and Aaron jumped on it. He's had every test imaginable and passed with flying colors. As it turns out Justin, the liver transplant recipient is also an Air Force Academy grad, so they really hit if off when they met a few weeks ago. It's not often you can give the gift of life to someone, so we are very proud of his decision.
Please consider contributing if so inclined as there will be many expenses not covered by insurance in the coming months.
Cheers, Tom

What an incredibly selfless act. Donation made. For those unaware, Tom (Latitude48) has been a positive and helpful member of the online 944 community for decades and gone out of his way to help me and others over the years, never once asking for anything in return. I encourage you all to help if you can.

Tom P - I remember flipping through your website to drool over the brakes, wheels, suspension etc when I bought my 951 back in 2001. Then recently I bought the turbo twist wheels and carbon strut bar from you. You have been great to deal with and extremely generous with me.
I donated to help your son and his friend. I wish them the best and you must be proud of your son’s selfless act. I also have PSC and luckily am fine now, but I hope to have someone like your son on my side if it ever comes down to that

Good to hear you are doing OK and hope you continue to stay that way! The surgery will be at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. They do about 120 liver transplants per year. It's a 6-hr surgery with one night in ICU, then transfer to the unit for about a week in the hospital and 3 months off work. For an adult transplant they take the large node, which is about 60-70% of the liver. It will grow back over the next few months. Pretty amazing.cp99 wrote: Fri Jan 09, 2026 4:37 pm Tom P - I remember flipping through your website to drool over the brakes, wheels, suspension etc when I bought my 951 back in 2001. Both Aaron and Justin were pilots in the Air Force. Aaron flew the C-17 and did many stressful 24 hr plus missions in and out of Baghdad and Kandahar. After his service he took a different path and now works in finance. Justin is a commercial pilot and hopefully will be able to return to that profession. Thanks everyone for your thoughts, prayers and donations. Much appreciated.
