992.2 Turbo S Debuts

All very nice but I have no use for the added complexity, at least not for an owner such as myself who does ALL the wrenching.

I drove the 992 T-Hybrid Carrera 4 GTS on the track. Nice but I would never buy anything electric, be it Hybrid, Plug-In or EV.

My 991.1 Carrera 4 GTS will likely be my last Porsche that I will own.

I lucked into mine simply because in 2018 when I bought it and with 98 miles on the odometer, I basically bought a "new" car that was no longer available. I hardly use it and the thought of selling it, I know I would regret it big time.

Even a new GT3 that I would go for, the glass panel instruments does nothing for me. I like "real" instruments in my 991.1 and 993.

I agree. I drive a 2022 Cayman GTS 4.0. It has the identical instrument panel and center console as the 991. I am old school - love knobs, buttons and analog gauges.

The center air vent on the right in the 992 is down low compared to the left vent. And that is why my right hand sweats when I am on the track. I can't get the same airflow as compared to the left air vent.

A lot of reviews now coming out on the new 2026 Turbo S T-Hybrid. It's very fast but it is heavy and complex. It's also going to enormously expensive as are all 911s these days. Base price for the Turbo S is nearing $275k. A well-equipped build will likely push it to the $325k range and higher. On top of that, Porsche's Q3 comments indicated that prices across the model line are going up.

Reviews I've seen so far are positive as is usually the case for most new car models being reviewed. (Don't irritate the manufacturers!) However, it does appear to be an extremely capable car with impressive attributes, although I cringe at the thought of regular service, not to mention major repairs when out of warranty.

All very nice but no thanks. Unless I am forced to do so, I will never own a Hybrid or EV.

So my 991.1 GTS will be my last Porsche.

I don't know but I hope not. The ADM madness needs to stop.
