I had the all-metal sunroof on both my 991 and now my 992, as the black glass top just seemed out of place on both cars. As I daydream about PTS colors for the next 992, however, some of them would look pretty good with the black glass top. So here's my Sunroof 101 question. If you have the glass sunroof, is there still a way to completely block out the sun with a sliding partition or something, or does the sun always come through the roof to some extent even when closed?

There will be an inside sunshade under the glass roof of the .2 Turbo S T-Hybrid unless Porsche has lost all their common sense.

Food for thought and pure narrow opinion to follow:
1. The coupe will look so much better without the black glass top - painted is a much cleaner look.
2. Why spend money on PTS if you're going to throw away such a large portion of the paintable body area for a glass top? Seems kind of counterintuitive to me. I want all the PTS area I can have! :D

My 2¢.

To date, I've agreed with both points -- especially #1 -- but this car kind of got to me...

The 991.2 Turbo S cars like the one in the video as well as the 992.1 versions that we currently have, boast an inherently cleaner, leaner look (again, my opinion) than what I expect to see on the 992.2 Turbo S. I think we have a good indication what the new TTS will look like based on the new GTS cars. There is a lot more black, especially at the front with the vertical grill teeth which, for me, means I would want paint wherever possible.

I wish they'd unveil the 992.2 Turbo S already... Those are all valid points. Maybe they'll have a stripe/decal package to give it a little contrast. I love the gelbgrun, but think it needs some contrasting black....

I agree on all points. The contrasting black on the Gelbgrun Green looks fantastic and I especially like the way the front has been done. Also, the black and carbon fiber pieces all around as well as the classy side decals work magnificently together.

Check this out, it clarifies the differences nicely:

When the interior is all black, I prefer having the glass roof. It lightness up the cabin, and makes it feel like less of a dark cave. I had the glass roof in my 991.2, and loved it. Sunshade during the summer, and no shade during the winter. I also like the dark roof look from the exterior.
