Wow, very unique. Well done.... Would be cool if you could get the dummy key done as well haReidMcT wrote: Thu Jul 10, 2025 4:53 pm Happy with my tie-dye door straps, I wanted trim to match. And I happened to have a leftover set of standard silver painted trim, after putting brushed aluminum in the Boxster.
The kind folks at Strapworks lent me their digital artwork, which I used to DIY some waterslide decals. With no talent, I made mistakes with this tricky, delicate material. But I managed to make it good enough to please my eye.
I'm trying to get matching seatbelts made, but it's difficult to get small batches of anything.

If you've seen one 718 interior, you've seen 'em all -- until you see that one!! I'm actually totally feeling it! Just a matter of time before Porsche offers a tie-dye interior! Nicely done!

Very conservative interior mods my friend , haha! The somewhat austere look many attribute to Porsches is now gone!

Ceramic coating this week!
Its so shiny!
The car has just about 800 miles on it and the paint was in reasonable condition from the dealership, but not great. They had parked it outside for extended periods and there were water spots, some minor scratches and swirls.
Since I dont know if I will be keeping the car past December, I was on the fence about what to do in terms of paint protection. On the one hand the factory paint is fragile and I knew driving it for a few months would result in more flaws if nothing was done. On the other hand paint protection seems to be a very individual sort of thing and most people have their own ideas about whats appropriate. I didnt want to put a lot of money into PPF or more exotic treatments if a potential buyer might see those as liabilities instead of assets when considering purchasing the car.
I visited most of the shops in San Diego and went with Ceramic Pro where I had previous positive experiences and I believe their shop is above average in terms of the work they do.
The emphasis on this job was comprehensive paint correction to get it in as good condition as possible and then a basic ceramic coating to lock that in.
If it turns out that I keep the car, then I probably will get some PPF applied (certainly before taking it to any racetracks). Or if we do sell it, the new owner has a good foundation to either add whatever they like or just go with the basic coating.

Looks outstanding! There's also temporary Tracwrap (and countless knock offs) if you want to avoid PPF and still protect it on the track. I've used it on new cars to protect it while waiting for ppf. Easy to use and it works!

I updated my DSC firmware tonight. Really easy, simply followed the instructions. I also looked at all of the tune files I have been using and none of them had the asymmetrical g-tables so I don't think I will even notice the update.

The current MPSC2s were shot after this past Sunday, so I had a set of new Hoosier Track Attack Pros that were being held for me mounted today. The normal 265/35 up front and different for me 305/30 for the rear. Will try them out on track this Saturday.

Will look forward to your analysis as friends tell me they are a bit slower than RE71RSs, A052s, Cups and even RT660+s, but seem to wear well and telegraph the tracks reasonably good. But, none of these buds are in a Porsche, let alone a Cayman/Boxster. Rumor is you are pretty fast so waiting for your input on Carpokes will keep us in bated breath, ha!

I noticed a difference on the drive home. Can't say exactly but it felt like they were tracking better. I have a feeling they will out corner the MSPC2 tires but we'll see.WillyDaP wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 7:28 am Will look forward to your analysis as friends tell me they are a bit slower than RE71RSs, A052s, Cups and even RT660+s, but seem to wear well and telegraph the tracks reasonably good. I do like the Michelin Cups a lot. They wear well too, at least with proper suspension and alignment setups.

Review from NASA last Fall on the new Hoosiers which is what put them on the front burner for me. The Track Attack Pros were quite good at The Thermal Club testing. Speed and turn-ins were very good. Wear might be reduced vs the MPSC2s but that's just an early guess. I'll find out!WillyDaP wrote: Wed Jul 23, 2025 7:28 am Will look forward to your analysis as friends tell me they are a bit slower than RE71RSs, A052s, Cups and even RT660+s, but seem to wear well and telegraph the tracks reasonably good.
