Out of curiosity, why not CNC?

Could be a cosmetic issues as cast and CNC have different finishes/textures.
Not sure how costs would compare.

I think we're talking about 2 different items here? Michael wanted someone to produce the Le Mans valve cover but also mentioned wanting someone to 'CAD-ify' an intake design of his. In which case I made the suggestion that if he couldn't find anyone over there, the guy that made mine might be able to help. Although I know he's extremely busy. The finish is fantastic though. Although I think the cam cover needs to be cast for a faithful finish.

No, CNC billet alu. Although he did do a few partial printed versions prior to pressing the 'Go' button on the big expensive machine to produce a masterpiece. Was a bit tricky fitting it underhood due to runner length and angles. Hopefully it won't be a further issue now that we're changing throttle body to something larger.

Many thanks for all the input! Re the valve cover, I had reached out to the fellow that did the very nice GTP clone over on RL, but haven't received a response. This is why I reached out on Carpokes hoping for a simple and affordable solution. Anything one-off can be tough.

The same goes for the intake manifold. I'm wanting to convert the 2V GTR engine to 4V while using the original throttle bodies and plenum. This is another challenge since there'd be no demand for this piece.

If any of this stuff were easy, it wouldn't be near as interesting.

BTW, Patrick, your intake is absolutely gorgeous!

I've been experimenting with Bambu's PPA-CF, and am fairly sure it would hold up fine as an intake like that. Good to 440F degrees with a tensile strength that exceeds some aluminums, at least on paper. My first few prints with it suggest it's the real deal in terms of printer-to-engine-bay parts. That said, even though Porsche put a plastic oil pan on my 992 I still wouldn't want a valve cover in plastic. I assume that GTP valve cover has machined bearing races, with oil galleys, etc.?
