It was someone else on the "no snob Porsche 944 squad" group on FB. So you are the second person I know of that has brooksmotos wheels.
I have the RH Alurads and they are about 25# each, and I found some data on RL from someone that weighed the Speedlines, and they are the same at roughly 25# each!!!!! I really like the look, and have had mine rebuilt once as well as the original bill of sale (I'm the third owner of the set). There is another company that makes the same looking wheel called Tramont out of Europe. Rotiform has something similar in their CustomSpec Forged group (called KLU) along with custom 3 piece phone dials style also in the CustomSpec Forged (called STR) as well. I've seen a picture of the 3 piece phone dial style with gold polished center on a lowered 944....interesting. Another similar Porsche wheel from Rotiform in that grouping is called the FUC.
BTW, how's the repaint going?

Repaint is going well! Ron is finished prep with all the pieces that were removed (bumpers, rear valance, mirrors, etc) and is starting on the body. He was burning the candle at both ends for awhile and is take a few days off of it to keep his sanity. I'm not in a big hurry so I would rather him not get burned out. Once the body work is done all will go to the primer stage (and the next payment installment).

I did a bunch of research on the RS style wheel a few months ago. I ended up going with brooksmoto on eBay mainly because they are cheap, had the perfect offset (flush with fenders) and I was able to get a matte grey centers. At the price I paid, I could buy 4 sets for the price of the other options and would be easy to get them.

There is something to be said about rep wheels and being made well. Aka, breaking. I've seen one bad pothole cause a wheel to crack before.

ROB III wrote: Wed Mar 20, 2024 8:14 am Saw something on a 944 FB page, remembered your post here, so asked the OP what kind of wheels they were and he said brooksmotos_wheels.
I googled and got this ebay page

https://www.ebay.com/str/brooksmotoswheels

LOTS of familiar designs but COMPLETE SETS only at less than primary suppliers prices and there is a 17" set available that look like yours. But if you look at the info for the seller you get:

Location: China
Member since: Jul 21, 2020
Seller: brooksmotos_wheels

so maybe a knockoff of the 3.6 Turbo Speedline design.
That may have been me! The 3.6 Turbo speedlines are A) Rare B) Insanely expensive and C) Very hard to get the correct offset for a 944. Those wheels look great, was on the fence about buying a set, I was worried about the offset but they look like they fit fine. Are those 17x8 and 17x9.5 ET50?

Mine are the 18” cast variant and +50 offset. They custom painted my centers a matte gray per my request.

They do have a 17 inch option that are forged, but they are for the early 944 offset and believe it or not, have even less of a “deep dish” look than the 18’s.

You have to be careful with the tire sizes on the 18’s. My car is an 87 turbo, so it does not have the factory rolled fenders like the 88 turbo S and all 89 turbos. I am at stock ride height and have 275 widths on the rear and the drivers side would rub on bumps, hard turns and hard acceleration. I had to have the rear fenders rolled to stop the rubbing. If I were to do it again, I would go with 255 width on the rears.

How does the front fit with that offset? Are they 18x8?

Wheel Size: 18x8 Front & 18x9.5 Rear
Wheel Offset: +50mm Front & +50mm Rear

I have an 89 Turbo and bought some used 3 piece wheels (RH Alurad) that are listed as front 18" X 8" with 52ET and I have 225/40-18 Michelins and rear 18" X 10" with 52ET with 265/35-18 Michelins with no issues.
