Hi,
I’m chasing a rough start issue and currently have the auxiliary air regulator off. Ice connected it to 12v and it closed within 2 minutes. Should I accept that it’s working fine and put it back together or give it a clean through with brake/carb cleaner?

Regards Rob

I would clean it, always easier while its out then having to take it back out at a later point.

That’s what I’m tempted to do, is brake cleaner the best thing to use as all I can do is spray it in and hope it washes out?

Thats what I used for my idle control valve, I would also go and do you aos seals with the intake off, should help stop it form ever getting clogged up in the future

If it take 2 minutes for the valve to react to power, that doesn't sound right. See this video I did a while back showing how a good ISV work.

Hi,
Sorry, I don't think I was clear on the model I have, its the a 1984 model with the Bosch AAR fitted as pictures. When I've watched the videos of it on you tube it takes a while to close which seems to be the Norm.

Ah, sorry about that. My bad. I have no insights on that version. Carry on. :)

Cheers,
I've got it out now and like you want to change all the seals. I've found the dimensions of 3 but cant find the size of the one at the top of the oil catcher (the one you have to pries the top of to get at)
Does anyone have the dimensions for this "O" ring to hand please?

Regards Rob
