Thanks for the clarification. Definitely a bad and potentially significant error. Maybe this topic needs its own dedicated thread?
Thanks,
Larry
It's an older issue that most would figure out before doing any damage, but some already have had problems and going forward others might get tripped up if not paying close attention, so I think you're correct that it would be good to post something. It would be another source as a heads-up reference.

I suppose that's even more true considering the increasing number of subsequent owners of 4.0 718s and the fact that many of the '21s are already or soon to be out of warranty. If someone got fooled by the faulty owners manual, it could make for a bad day for them.

I'll work on getting something posted.

I have been messing around with Carbon Fiber, so decided to test it out on the foot pad. Turned out great!
Has a coating on it that is scratch resistant, and I have a couple little clear rubber pads to put on where my foot rests.
Has a nice look when you open the door... Will look good with my Ed Guards fuse box covers when they are done :D

It's here... Porsche carbon fiber weave sport chrono housing....I am pretty hesitant to install this one myself, as I don't want to damage the leather dash... There are 2 electrical clips you have to take off, and they don't give you much slack so it's gonna be a lot of fumbling around I think.

Before pic.... After pic hopefully by next week

This was by far the most frustrating thing to install... There are two plugs that you obviously need to unplug, and Porsche kindly only gives you 0.0001mm of slack, so I had to contort my arms in some bizarre manner to be able to unplug them.

Continuing my obsession with Race-Tex/Alcantara, I got Frank at E.O. to make me a custom made Red Alcantara dummy key and Dial. He is also making me a black Alcantara steering column casing in Chalk stitch, which I will post in a week or so when it comes in.

My goal is to try and wrap everything in Alcantara that I would touch. Working on the next bits and bobs now :D

Just updated my project log with the Inner and now outer door sills in Carbon fiber. Love how these turned out.

I have a layer of Xpel PPF ontop of both inner and outer door sills so I never have to worry about scratches :D

It's installed! Custom made Alcantara Steering Column, in Chalk stitching by Frank at Exclusive Option. LOVE how it turned out. Goes well with the Alcantara wheel and dummy key.

Install was pretty straight forward, making sure to take my time, take out all the bolts, and unclip carefully the two electrical plugs.

Looks great. How long did the entire process take and are there any clips that could break?

Under and hour, and that was me taking my time. I watched this video, which pretty much explains everything. The one in the video has the powered adjustment. Mine is the manual adjustment, but pretty much the same process.

On a difficulty scale for someone that is not overly mechanical like myself, I would say 5/10 difficulty.
