Today I have mostly finished the interior. The new covers for the headrests are not here yet, I want to wrap the steering wheel, and I'll need to find a knob of some sort for the gauge dimmer, but that's about it.

Next up will be timing gears, water pump and general engine reseal.

I was thinking the same thing -- there were probably half a dozen Capri's in our high school parking lot, and none of them looked half this good. Really nice job on the seats!

That "no wrinkles" look took a lot more effort than I expected. I'm thrilled with how they turned out, and really happy to not have to work on that part again!

Yeah I know all about those that say "cars are meant to be driven", but having had one of those, they are a treat, a gem.

So I would treat the inside of the rear quarters, the part around the wheel-well where they all rust due to a lack of air circulation with something like Krown T40. Maybe even the insides of the rocker panels if there are body holes under the trim.

You do live in the Pacific North Wet.

This actually made me smile. The Capri was my first car in 1971 and I owned four of them. However, I always wanted to own a V-six and I’m glad to see one exists to be brought back to life. I can’t wait to see your other photographs.

Confirmed today that the notorious original fiber composite timing gear is still in place. Probably the best clue yet that the 76k on the odometer is probably correct, as these gears are well known for shedding all their teeth, often around 50-80k. New metal gearset is on its way.
