… the red probe on pin 2, and ground the black probe to the chassis. You should still see battery voltage (e.g. 14.67) when the PSE switch is set to quiet the car.
I do see 14.67 V.
… change the button in the car to see if the battery voltage disappears when the PSE is trying to open the flaps and make the car loud.
I still see 14.6 V.
… then most likely the ground side is switched on/off to control the PSE. To confirm that, set the mm to ohms (or diode test with beep); then put the black probe to Pin 1 of the connector and see if you have continuity when the PSE flaps should be closed and no continuity when the flaps should be open.
I put the back probe in pin 1, and the red to chassis ground. I think that’s what you want. I get this reading, so i assume it is switching ground like you say.

… I can help lay out the manual switch harness if helpful...
Yes Please!!! I wish there was a way for a hidden toggle to change what the Factory switch does. For instance, an accessory dongle, or hidden switch, that lets me set the factory switch to act as does ‘stock’ or, when the dongle switch is flipped, the factory switch behaves like a light switch rather than listening to the ECU. Either having it always off (the default), or always on when the factory switch is ‘on’ or lit up after pressed. Not the end of the world if we can’t do this.

Thanks you for your patience with me.

Almost there, but that last test isn't complete. With the black probe on Pin 1 and the red probe on a good chassis ground, what you are looking for is continuity when the flaps should be closed, and an open circuit when the flaps should be open. Your reading shows 525 ohms I believe, which isn't what I'd expect to see with the flaps open or closed. I'd repeat that test, and make sure the probes make solid contact with the both Pin 1 and a nice clean ground. Also, what you are trying to confirm is that there IS continuity when the flaps are shut, and there is NOT continuity when the flaps are open. So you need to test with the PSE button in both positions, and confirm Pin 1 switches with it.

I'd also put the connector back on and make sure the flaps and opening and closing when you push the button. By testing with the plug removed, there's some chance Pin 2 stayed at 14.67 because the factory system was keeping the flaps closed despite the cabin switch. With a patch cable like I described above, you can hear the exhaust switch modes. With the connector removed, it's worth confirming the flaps are doing what you expect...

Once we get it sorted, if you follow the pattern of the 718 version, the switch will do exactly what you describe. It give you three modes: always quiet, always loud, and factory-controlled by the PSE switch in the cabin.

Sounds good, I’ll make a patch cable tomorrow and re-test. Thanks!

You'll need a male and female connector, and pins for them. These are the same parts you'll need for the switch harness so order extra. :)

Uggg. I’m dazzled by all the different connectors in this https://www.digikey.com/en/products/fi ... iIAdySmMSA.

I think that this male and female connector would work. I know I’ll need associated pins, seals, wire and tools. Am i on the right track with these two inline connectors?

Those are two alternatives of the same clip -- both take the female pins. Let me dig up some part numbers for you... Please hold. :)

You need one male-side connector and associated terminal pins.

Terminal pins for the male connector are part number: 1-962841-2 (lots of options/variations)

The first female connector you listed above is as good as any.
For the female pins, there are tons of options, such as part number 964284-2
