How to do it?

I've been buying a lot of parts over the past year for my 944 turbo and I just ordered a new intercooler turbo pipe. It was listed as new, but when I got it, it clearly was new old stock. Which is technically new I guess, but still.
The date code said 15th of February 1991. Crazy to think that this pipe has been laying around a warehouse for 33 years! I mean... I'm 33 today! This pipe could've been my sibling.

Another example would be the turbo crossover pipe I bought on Ebay. I believe it was also made in the late eighties. Then, my 'new' fuel rail. Date stamped 2008.
Who is keeping all these parts in warehouses? How are some of your parts dated?
This pipe could've been my sibling.
