One could envision a whole new tuning industry to over-ride those limits. Blunt force comes to mind:

I suspect I'm old enough to ride it out with good old-fashion, governor-free, gas-burning cars -- but it might be close.

I'm in a boat further down the line than you so, it shouldn't be an issue for me either, but I worry about those behind us. Keeping older vehicles running that have less tech is going to take great effort but I have no doubt that trend will continue to grow as people seek to avoid the watchdogs and interference types of technology.

And yes, the "tuning" industry and those in the shadows will also help.

There's always something to keep everyone on their toes!

Soon after I got my pickup truck, it strayed sending me notifications about my driving style - hard acceleration and rapid braking. I turned that off, but have no illusions that it is still stored or transmitted somewhere. The sub par tech in my 21 Carrera can’t be that far behind.

I may have to order one of the GPS blockers while we can, or reserve the hooliganism for the wife’s M3.
