Weekly email requests

I've started sending out weekly Carpokes emails highlighting various posts. It's a good way to amplify a post and get thousands of eyes on it. Great for difficult tech questions, items for sale, and anything that might get overlooked.

So... if you want your post included, or see one you think should be, please include #newsletter in the thread so I can find it easily on newsletter day.

Given my poor track record at coining hashtags, and my general lack of understanding as to how they actually work, please feel free to also say something along the lines of 'Hey Tom, do me a solid and put this in the weekly newsletter.'

FWIW, I recommend doing the momentum play - look at the threads with the most views and replies and highlight some of those in your weekly email. E.g., 718 photo threads, What did you do with your 718 today? Full disclosure - I have a 718 so I’m biased but the same recommendation applies to any thread.

Great idea as it seems every time I get these email reminders I note a new area I had not checked out that was of interest to me. Nice touch and it may help many members who due to work, vacation, etc. miss checking in to the site for a week or more.
