Great looking car. A very nice 996 drove past me this week and I had forgotten how hard Porsche worked to make those cars sound like the air-cooled cars they replaced. I was getting the mail and heard it coming and would have bet money it was an air cooled 911 until I saw it. In contrast my 992 has virtually none of that sound...

your 992 is a turbo, right? even the 996 turbo sounds like an irritated sewing machine from the factory. my 997 TT had no exhaust character until i swapped out for an x-pipe. not a lot of room for tubing and the turbos act as giant acoustic absorbers - it takes work to get a water cooled porsche turbo car to sound good.
