I spent a week in Palm Springs at the Porsche Parade (my first Parade after 34 years of Porsche ownership)I drove home yesterday afternoon, a very easy 7 hours.I had a fantastic time at a very nice venue.I should post photo's in the coming day's as time permits. But starting backwards in events, I drove the Porsche Parade yesterday with approx 300 Porsche owners which ended up being 34 miles round trip to the top of a local mountain back down to the start location.

The road along the way was lined here & there with well wishers and photo opp. people.

On the return trip an unfortunate 986 ,I think it was, it was hard to tell. The photo's will explain. No injuries reported everyone was fine. But as I drove by the heat was very intense. Not sure what the cause was, my guess would be bad fuel lines dumping raw fuel on a very hot engine.

My take away from Porsche Parade is it was worth the effort & time to go and being only 7 hours away made a bit easier then traveling across the country.

Oh no, a Parade within driving distance and I missed it again. :( One of these days I'll get to one.... Looking forward to your pictures. That's awful about the car fire. That one is definitely not going to buff right out. Very glad no one was hurt!

So one of the evening events was the complimentary PCA viewing of the new Transformer movie which has a Carrera RS as one of the Transformers which is the one in this photo set.The full size model was in front of the Fiesta Ball room at the La Quinta resort. The movie was geared more for kids but hey, an evening out with fellow PCA members, all the pop corn & soda you could drink, complimentary lap blankets to stay warm since the theater was kept a balmy 60 degrees inside.

A parking lot full of Porsche's since it looked the PCA members were the only ones in the theater.

A good time had by all.

I made my way over to the Auto X and one of the fastest things there was this Road Runner! These guy's were pretty serious about Auto X with full slicks and tire changes between runs.I believe the over all winner was Steve Lau from the GGR in a 986 Cayman with a 4.0 GT-3 engine making 500HP in a 2500 car!He & wife Kara took turns running the car.The car's name was Stormy! I asked if it once belonged to Stormy Daniel's?I never got an answer.I was waiting for one of the Hotel stall to ask me to leave after that comment.
