The project I'm currently working on, 71 911
I got 2, a small one and a large one. I started with the small one, which was an old stove I converted.
Installed a digital controller It was OK for small parts, but I needed something larger, so I built one. 2 Coils and the same digital controller as for the small one.

A few other pieces done for the 911.
Restored the wiper assembly. I'm using a later version of the wiper system, so I will also have the intermittent option.

I also made a complete new wire harness for the wiper system.

I finished the front hubs, and coated them with Cerakote. The dust caps are zinc plated.

Blasted and powder coated the dust shields for the front and rear brakes.

The 911 will get Aero Power mirrors, so I had to sort that out and make sure all is working.

I also had to cut the hole in the driver door for the mirror control switch.

Next, also some addition: Power windows.
Sorting out the wiring:

And here the finished harness.

I also got the fiber glass roof skin bonded.

This time the car will get rear 911R style lights. I had to modify the inserts to make sure the fit right.

I also installed studs, so there will no screws visible from the outside.
More to come.
Cheers

I'm gonna keep saying "wow" to your project, what you're accomplishing and how you do it. The pictures are key for us, so thanks. Porsche restoration photo journalism. Fascinating.
Keep them coming!

Time to spray some primer and paint.
I used epoxy primer for the bare metal and some polyester primer for the fiber glass sections.
After the primer was done I moved to the green. I did the trunk, inside, engine bay, and under side.

A lot of masking what I don't paint at the time.

After that I left it alone for a while, since I also worked on another little project.
I also painted the dash area satin black. Installed the steering column.

Next, assemble the suspension, so it can actually rolled around.

Next I will spend some time checking all primed section for any imperfections, now is the time to do it.
Cheers

I’m amazed you find enough hours in the day. That’s more than a full time job.
Great stuff - congrats !!!!

The journey continues. Was just looking back at the beginning of this thread and even though it had been auto-crossed for 10-years, the car looked great, so I can only imagine what the end result of the outlaw you're building will look like. It will be a brand new car no matter what.

The car is back from painting. I will let it sit for a while, since I'm working to finish up the engine for the Targa and install it.
Here are a few pictures.

Looks great to me! That's a different green from before, correct? What is the color?

It's the same color, Viper green. This time with top shelf paint, and base color and clear, that's why it looks a bit different. I like the tone as it is now.blueline wrote: Sun Apr 09, 2023 3:59 pm Looks great to me! That's a different green from before, correct? What is the color?
