I have an 86 944 turbo and always thought the 9'' rear wheels were ideal, especially when making more power. I think the club sports are a nice match for the 951 body, but are late offset. For early offset, we can run the 930 fuchs (9x16) and the only factor 9x16 phone dials are magnesium cup wheels in late offset.
Has anyone had/seen a set of 8x16 phone dials widened (i.e. sent to Weldcraft, etc.)? Any concerns of durability for a widened rim on a street driven car?

I've seen them made into three piece wheels, but if you want it to look stock, maybe these:

Probably not cheap though...

Thanks Tom. I did reach out to Augment a while ago regarding 17" phone dials and I think the price was ~$4000 for a set (and only in late offset). I think weldcraft charges a few hundred per wheel for widening. After some google searching, it seems it is fairly safe to have them widened.
