They are common, but beware of the ones that come with a dozen adapters -- I've never had any luck getting those to seal on a 944. I have the one posted above and can vouch for it fitting/sealing. If you can't find that one, look for one with a rubber bladder like the one below. You pump the bladder up inside the neck so it too works in the 944 -- you just need to pinch off the overflow hose with the bladder style... A good pressure tester is a near-must tool for all self-respecting 944 DIYers... Worth buying and owning...

Cheers, I'll try and find the Bosch one. Years ago I worked at Lola, and like most guys there I became quite a tool collector. :)

I can't locate that tester anywhere in the UK, except on Amazon where it is a ridiculous price. Any other suggestions, bearing in mind I'll probably only use it once, so not worth spending hundreds.

Maybe install an air fitting in an old cap (and clamp the overflow shut)? Or see this post showing how to use existing parts to tap into the vent port -- if you did the same you could work up some type of adapter to put pressure in the system. I'm surprised you can't find one in the UK. I use mine surprisingly often for what it's worth -- helps with leaks, venting, etc. -- so definitely not a one-time tool for me...

It looks a lot like mine. I think a lot of those barely-branded tools come from the same design and are made as near-commodities in low-cost manufacturing countries throughout Asia... Impossible to be sure, but I'd say there's a 73.47% chance it'll work on the 944.

Also, those instructions have nothing to do with that tool, making me wonder if the image is AI generated....

As it's on ebay, guess I could send it back if it doesn't work.
