Thinking of finally jumping into a 970. Thought it may be helpful to make one thread to keep all questions and answers for future buyers to see all the info in one place.

Would be helpful for a rough idea of annual maintenance, which model you recommend, bottom price you’d pay, top milage you’d consider, and any other thoughts you’d like to share.

Personally I know the GTS appears to be the 970 to own but I think the twin turbo V6 S is the one I’d like due to the ease of maintenance and lower weight and better balance. Thoughts ?

I bought my 2010 Panamera 4 S brand new and I still have it.it has 275 thousand miles. Other than routine maintenance and a couple of early warranty covered issues it has been reliable and fun. I live in North Ohio and drive it year round, switching tires. I have had 2 major issues. A few years ago one of the rear suspension springs broke and of course both had to be replaced. Most recently, the PDK failed and they can’t be repaired. I A new one is about $21k. have a great mechanic, so I bought a used one on eBay ( with about 70k miles on it) and replaced it. So… I will continue to drive it. As you can see it is not a “ garage queen “ I highly recommend it, I never had a more trouble free car, nor one that I have kept and drove so long. I posted some pictures of it on this web site. And by the way if you’re a do it yourself person, it’s very easy to do all routine maintenance including oil, filters, spark plugs, and brakes.

Be alert to leaking suspension air bags.
This can be hard to detect. Dealer method is measure distance from fender wheel arch to ground. Leave overnight and remeasure the next day. Drop should no more than 5mm after 34 hours.
If leak is greater a soapy water test may be sufficient.
Either method would be awkward if contemplating a purchase.
Replacement of air bags is $10,000 to $11,000.
