This thread has been great to follow. Especially since I know nothing of 911 engines/trans.
You do amazing work my friend!

Continuing assembly.

I'm using silicon gaskets for the valve cover.

The fan and housing was powder coated over 10 years ago. Good to see it holds up nice.

More to come.

I'm out of adjectives Engelbert so I'll just use a good old standby: Awesome!!

It looks as good as or better than one from the factory back in the day.

Thanks for all the detail and pictures.

Just curious, but how many hours did the whole process take? (asking about your time in garage--not downtime for any outsourcing)

Last weekend I took my 2276CC aircooled 4 cylinder apart for a camshaft swap. I was hoping for a simple in and out, maybe a quick hone on the cylinders to break the glaze and put it back together. I unfortunately the center split main bearing was starting to show copper. Dang.

Broke it the rest of the way down and took the case the shop for a professional assessment.
