Just to clarify, the cylinders are 1-3-4-2 from firewall to radiator, right?

In the picture you can see the #1 wire (4:30) coming from below my hand and going to the cylinder closest to the firewall. The wire to the right in my hand (#2, 1:30) is going to the cylinder closest to the radiator.

Or am I looking at this totally wrong? I hope I am

1342 is the firing order, the cylinders are designated 1,2,3,4 from the front. This will change everything

Well I suppose that would explain the no start and intake backfire.

I guess I should have paid more attention to the old plug wires when I pulled them off.

Thank you!

I’m just coming back around to confirm that the problem was the spark plug wire order. I corrected it and the car fired right up.

Thanks everyone!

Impressive solution to boing's no-start issue! The community got involved and (with photos) quickly determined the fault. Surely this is the way Carpokes is supposed to work, and it's always a delight to see Tom's forum in action.
