Oil Recommendation - Please don't kill me for asking

They're also red, which matches the color of my car.

Well yesterday was the day finally to do the oil change. Well designed drain plug access, and of course some German humor with the filter location and spillage upon removal. I minimized some of the mess by at least doing it after as much drained out as possible and stuffed rags around but it didn't really matter, it made a mess.

Not sure what the previous owner had used for oil but I can say the engine quieted down a fair bit, I actually kinda miss hearing more engine noise but I guess "oils well that ends well" (see what I did there).
