This may be the only Carmon Red 911 you'll see here!

Indeed! It's definitely a different shade of dark red and it looks great!

I am assuming that two of the pics at Rennbow are your 997 (one with diff wheels!).

Yep, not a fan of the stock wheels. Much prefer the Fuchs look...a little bit of retro!

An additional comment on the stock "Classic Carrera" wheels (as in my avatar) vs. the Fuchs and then I'll let it go. After switching from the stock wheels, the difference in ride quality was dramatic. The Fuchs are very much more comfortable.

If you think about it, those spokes on the stock wheels direct the road shock directly into the hub and into the car. The Fuchs (or any more solid wheel really or wheel with many spokes) distributes the road shock through the wheel before it hits the car. Sort of like riding a bike which has straight up and down spokes (peloton style) perpendicular to the hub vs. a bike which has the spokes at an angle to the hub crossing other spokes. The ride of the perpendicular spokes is brutal, the spokes at an angle flex and absorb much of the shock. This was a very welcome upside to the Fuchs and ditching the stock wheels which I had not anticipated.

That thought never would have crossed my mind. But no matter, as the Fuchs look marvelous!

Love the Carmon Red but I'm not so sure about the wheel argument. They look great, though!

I know this is also my profile pic, but thought I'd share a larger image for the picture thread. This pic was taken in Joshua Tree, which we drove through on our way home from L.A. to West Virginia. It was on my bucket list to buy a 911...and drive across the country... so I did them together.
